Action Group Native Amerians & Human Rights e.V. publishes the poetic collection of the poets of the <A HREF="edge.html">reading tour</A>. The poems come from four very different worlds: <A HREF="lance.html">Lance Henson</A> (Cheyenne), Thounaojam Chanu Ibemhal-Memchoubi (Meitei), Marry Ailonieida Somby (Sami) and Apirana Taylor (Maori). The anthology is bilingual English and German.

<H3><FONT FACE="helvetica,arial,sans-serif" SIZE="3">Some words about the authors</FONT></H3>
<P>
<A HREF="lance.html">Lance Henson</A> is a Cheyenne poet from Oklahoma, USA. His works have been published in more than 25 languages, in Asia and Europe. As a traditional member of the Southern Cheyenne and member of the Dog Soldier Society, Lance Henson has been politically engaged for 30 years. He represented his people before the United Nations in Geneva. The project »Words from the Edge« was initiated by him.
<P>
Thounaojam Chanu Ibemhal-Memchoubi comes from the people of the Meitei, who live in East India close to the border to Burma. She is the author of several books and essays about the culture of her people and is actively promoting the rights of women in India. Besides her degree, the author has been awarded by Unesco in 1997 for her research und publications.

Marry Ailonieida Somby is the first author to publish a childrens' book in the language of her people, the Sami. She is furthermore the author of several poetry books and theatrical plays. Her stays in North and South America and her contact with the Indigenous Peoples of the western hemisphere strongly influence her work just as the awareness of her traditional Sami culture.
<P>
Apirana Taylor comes from New Zealand. He calls himself a descendant of the »Ngati Porou, the Te Whanau a Apanui, the Ngati Ruanui and the Ngati Pakeha«. The multiple talents of the Maori Apirana Taylor include writer, actor and painter, at the same time. His publications include many poems, short stories and theatrical plays. He also contributed to several New Zealand theatrical productions and movies.
